STAX - SRS-005S MK2

Electrostatic designed have been pioneered by STAX and they are clearly at the top of the game. The electrostatic headphones operate on a an unconventional level unlike other headphones that feature dynamic and moving coil designs. In most headphones, the drivers are heavier, making it difficult to recreate detail in playback due to mass.

The SRM-252S is an exclusive driver unit (amplifier) for driving STAX ear speakers with PRO-bias 5 pins. Its line input can directly connect to the audio output terminal of CD player, portable audio player and PC. The SRM-252S has a simple design that excels in sound quality employing the carefully selected newest high-voltage transistors and low-noise FETs. The output stage featuring the emitter-follower configuration reinforces the driving performance and also realized the smooth sound quality.

The newly designed driver unit SRM-003 MK2 featuring improved power supply has made it possible to get enough performance also when using a chargeable battery with lower voltage not to mention an alkaline dry cell. Furthermore, the unit can be switched over to ECO and normal modes to enjoy the difference in tone quality.

Three kinds of ear pads (ear piece) are also attached so that the SR-003 MK2 can offer better wearing comfort with the improved form of ear pads. Moreover, an exclusive head band (overhead arc) is provided to obtain more stable wearing feeling.

The redesigned ear canal type structure of the SR-003 MK2 enables you to enjoy excellent electrostatic sound quality without covering your ears.
